Four members of the David Pieris Group (DPG) proudly represented the Mercantile Athletics Federation of Sri Lanka at the 30th Thailand Masters Athletics Championships, recently held in Ratchaburi Province.

The Sri Lankan team, comprising 42 athletes, delivered an outstanding performance, securing an impressive total of 56 medals. Demonstrating exceptional excellence on the international stage, the team also achieved 1st Place in the International Team Total Score among all participating nations.

Notably, the DPG members made a remarkable contribution, clinching a total of 11 medals — including 7 Gold, 3 Silver, and 1 Bronze — further underscoring the Group’s strong presence in competitive sports.

The Mercantile Athletics Federation earned qualification for this prestigious championship based on outstanding performances at the Mercantile Athletic Meet 2025.

In addition to the athletes’ achievements, Waruna Udawatta served with distinction as the Vice President and Captain of the Sri Lankan team, further elevating the country’s representation at the championship.
