This was a special two-day workshop conducted on 14th and 15th February 2020 at the Auditorium of Facilities Complex II, for the Vehicle Sales team. Focused on developing their skills in sales and helping them adapt to challenging market conditions, the programme was both informative and enlightening. Participants from the Regional offices situated island-wide, benefitted immensely from this workshop.
Private Sector Exposure programme
DPMC Learning and Development Team conducted a three-day Private Sector Exposure programme for the Cadet Officers of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service (SLAS)
SLAS is the premier management service of the Government to which Graduates are recruited every year through an open competitive examination. A comprehensive induction training covering several areas is conducted for one year for the SLAS Cadets, for which, a new module comprising Private Sector Exposure has been introduced. DPMC was selected to deliver this programme for the second consecutive year due to the commitment shown by DPMC"s Learning and Development Team towards achieving the key outcomes during the previous year. As part of the programme a special learning course was designed for the Graduates to enhance their knowledge on best practices of the company covering General management, Learning and Development and Performance management areas etc
Sales Motivation & Team Building workshop
The main focus of this workshop was on developing confidence levels of the Sales teams at "Riyasakwala" to perform in the competitive market and face new challenges. There was also emphasis on developing team spirit, leadership and communication skills. It was transforming as a whole and the participants benefitted immensely. The workshop was facilitated by DPMC Learning & Development Team at Facilities Complex II- Bandaragama and took place on November 23, 2019
Outbound Training programme at Dambulla
This programme was conducted by Rangiri Aqua, Dambulla and focused on Team building, improving leadership skills and providing knowledge on how to work as a team. Participants were able to develop both professionally and personally through this kind of training which is based on experiential learning. All Heads of Branches and Zonal Recovery in-charges were selected to participate in the programme.
Workshop on achieving Sales Excellence
This workshop was conducted at the DP Logistics Head office for the Sales team by Mr. Nevil Perera, a veteran trainer and well-known resource person in the Sales and Marketing arena. The main aim of the workshop was to boost confidence levels and focus of the sales team in order to drive sales under a highly turbulent market environment. Mr. Perera elaborated how Sales personnel must be resilient when faced with numerous challenges, so that they can bring success to the organization. He used a series of real examples in the Corporate world to elicit how a dynamic sales team could turn the organization's performance around and take it to greater heights. The workshop saw full participation of the Sales team and they benefitted immensely.
DP Group training for Public Sector employees
DPMC Talent Development Team with the HR Division successfully conducted a training and skills development program for newly appointed Graduate trainees in the public sector, with the support of other divisions in the companies of DP Group. The program was structured to provide knowledge and hands-on experience on best industry practices, factory visits, and included scheduled discussions, grooming sessions, and soft skills development sessions with the leadership team. Fun and exciting karting rides were also arranged.
The key objective for conducting this program was to facilitate a request made by the Government to provide an opportunity for selected Graduate trainees to experience and get exposed to competitive private sector practices, as they are due to take important positions in the public sector. We are proud to state that we were able to meet the said objective with excellent feedback from the participants.
