Moratuwa undergraduates visit Hot Water System at DPG
As part of its commitment to supporting education and practical learning, David Pieris Group recently welcomed six undergraduates from the Department of Building Economics, Faculty of Architecture, University of Moratuwa, for an educational site visit to the Hot Water System located at our Facilities Complex I.
The visit was organised to give the students practical exposure to the design, installation, operation and maintenance of a hot water system. It also provided an opportunity to connect their academic knowledge with real-world applications in building services.
As part of the programme, the students also visited the component and cable manufacturing units, gaining insights into manufacturing processes, materials, components and technologies used in the development and implementation of hot water systems.
The visit provided the undergraduates with valuable industry exposure and hands-on learning, complementing their academic studies and helping them better understand the practical aspects of their field.
The programme was conducted by Charith Samaratunga, General Manager – R&D, Thilina Perera, Assistant Manager – R&D and Sahan Hasitha, Manager – Operations, who guided the students throughout the visit.
Through initiatives such as these, David Pieris Group continues to support the development of young talent by creating opportunities for students to gain practical knowledge and industry exposure.
