As part of the David Pieris Group's commitment to environmental sustainability, a beach tree planting programme was successfully carried out at Thalaramba Beach in Kamburugamuwa, Matara with the objective of protecting the coastline from erosion while enhancing the natural beauty of the beach.

The initiative was conducted under the guidance, supervision and approval of the Coast Conservation Department, with the active participation of its officials. Employees representing the Sales & Marketing, Parts & Accessories, Workshop, Accounts and Field Service divisions of David Pieris Motor Company (Pvt) Ltd (DPMC), together with staff from Assetline Insurance Brokers Limited (AIBL), joined hands to support the programme.

To ensure the long-term success of the initiative, every planted tree was geo-tagged, photographed and documented with its exact GPS location. Responsibilities were assigned to designated team members to monitor and care for the saplings, while a structured maintenance plan was established, including daily watering during the initial growth stage followed by regular monthly monitoring to assess their progress.

Through initiatives such as this, the David Pieris Group continues to demonstrate its commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable community development by contributing to the protection and preservation of Sri Lanka's coastal ecosystems.
